Welcome to Mabin's Grade 1 Brain Project page!

As part of our thematic inquiry, The Grade 1 class has been studying brains and brain development, learning all about the different areas of the brain and what they help us do as we grow.  When the class was presented with The Brain Project for Baycrest as an extension of our learning, we thought it would be a perfect fit for us.  By participating in this inspiring project, we will be putting our artistic talents and knowledge to good use.  The class will work together to create a brain sculpture that will  be included in public displays around the city as part of this artistic project to raise awareness and money for Baycrest.  But in order to get a brain to work on and to participate in this unique fundraiser, our class needs to raise at least $5000 for Baycrest and The Brain Project.

The Brain Project is a large scale outdoor art exhibit where 100  artists, architects, celebrities and designers will design brain sculptures that will be displayed around Toronto in the Summer of 2016. The Mabin Grade One Brain will be  part of this public display in high-traffic areas around the city.  At the end of the exhibit, the  created brains will be auctioned off, with the money going to support Baycrest & Brain research.

We are very excited to be able to participate in this Summer 2016 campaign to raise much-needed funds for Baycrest and the important work that it does in brain health that will benefit us all.

We
hope you will consider supporting our efforts!

Thank you so much in advance,

Sandra and the Grade Ones
